At Dogs in the Country, we offer exclusive hire of our nearly two-acre dog field, giving you and your dogs the whole space to yourselves. No other dogs, no distractions, just a safe and relaxing environment where your dogs can be themselves. Available to book in one-hour or half-hour slots, so you can choose the visit that suits you best. Here is everything that is included with every visit.
Six-Foot Secure Fencing
The entire field is enclosed with six-foot fencing, giving you complete confidence that your dogs cannot escape. Whether you have a Houdini who has seen off lesser fences or a dog who loves to test boundaries, our perimeter is built to keep them safe.
Drive-In Car Cage
Our drive-in secure car cage is one of the features our visitors love most. You pull in, close the gate behind you, and then unload your dogs in a contained space before heading into the field. The same applies when you leave. It completely removes the stress of that chaotic moment between car and gate.
Nearly Two Acres of Space
The field itself is just under two acres of lush, well-maintained grass. Plenty of room for even the most energetic dogs to really let loose and burn off some energy.
Fresh Water Throughout
We have automatic water drinkers positioned across the field so your dogs can stay hydrated throughout their visit. There is also a tap with a wash-off hose in the secure car park, perfect for giving muddy paws a rinse before the journey home.
Obstacles and Play Features
There is plenty to keep dogs entertained and stimulated. The field includes logs to climb and explore, ramps, a seesaw and a sandpit. During the summer months we also put out a paddling pool, a favourite with dogs who love the water.
Comfort for Owners Too
We have not forgotten about the humans. There are benches and a picnic table so you can sit back, relax and enjoy watching your dogs have the time of their lives. Shelter is available for those days when the Scottish weather has other ideas.
Everything Provided
Dog poo bags and bins are provided throughout the field, so you have everything you need for a clean and enjoyable visit.
A Working Farm Setting
All of this sits within a beautiful working farm on the outskirts of Castle Douglas, surrounded by rolling countryside. It is more than just a dog walk. It is a proper day out.
