About Dogs in the Country

Born from a love of dogs and the great outdoors

Dogs in the Country came from a simple idea. Dogs deserve space to run freely, and their owners deserve the peace of mind to let them. Set on a working farm in the stunning countryside surrounding Castle Douglas, our field combines the very best of rural Scotland with a safe, fully managed environment designed with dogs and their owners in mind.

We know how stressful it can be when your dog does not have reliable recall, or when you just want a walk without the unpredictability of meeting other dogs. That is exactly why we created a space that takes all of that worry away.

Contained in our unloading

The field is just under two acres of lush green grass, fully enclosed with six-foot fencing to give you complete confidence that your dogs are safe at all times. We have invested in the details that make a real difference, from our unique drive-in car cage that lets you unload your dogs securely from the moment you arrive, to automatic water drinkers, a wash-off hose which is contained in unloading area, therefore your dog is completely secure at all times. A range of obstacles and play features to keep your dogs active and engaged.

We are proud to offer a clean, well-maintained space that is stocked with everything you need for a great visit, including dog poo bags and bins, benches, shelter, a picnic table and a sandpit. During the summer months we add a paddling pool, because every dog deserves to splash about on a warm day.

Part of the Countryside

Our location on a working farm means your visit comes with that unmistakable feeling of the real countryside. Fresh air, open skies and beautiful surroundings make every session feel like a proper day out, not just a dog walk. It is the kind of place you will want to come back to again and again, and we hope you do.

We would love to welcome you and your dogs. Get in touch to find out more or to book your session.
